TE ATA GLOBAL

Practical, culturally grounded learning that honours every learner.

Born in Aotearoa and grounded in Te Ao Māori, Te Ata Global helps educators strengthen identity, belonging, relationships and learner contribution through everyday learning.

THE STARTING POINT

Culture is not the add-on.

Culture shapes how learners understand themselves, relate to others, make meaning and contribute knowledge.

When identity, belonging and relationships help shape learning from the beginning, participation changes.

Culturally grounded learning begins by noticing who is already in front of you.

FROM THE CLASSROOM

Built by a teacher who understands the workload.

Te Ata Global was founded by Matua Kevin—a Māori primary kaiako, former soldier, storyteller and lifelong learner.

The kaupapa grew from real classroom practice: mixed cultures, different learning needs, limited planning time and the responsibility to help every learner feel known and able to contribute.

The resources are practical because they were built where learning actually happens.

OUR APPROACH

Grounded in Te Ao Māori. Open to every learner.

Te Ao Māori is the foundation of Te Ata Global—not a decorative layer and not a template that makes every culture the same.

Whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, ako, rangatiratanga and kaitiakitanga shape how TAG understands relationships, responsibility, reciprocal learning, contribution and care.

That strong grounding creates room for learners of every age, culture and nationality to bring their own names, languages, histories and knowledge with dignity.

FOR EDUCATORS

Teaching culture well does not require having all the answers.

It requires humility, curiosity and practical ways to notice identity, strengthen relationships and invite learners and whānau to contribute what they know.

Te Ata Global helps educators begin safely—with small, thoughtful actions that fit within real classrooms and already-full workloads.

You do not need to become an expert in every culture. You need a thoughtful place to begin.
